From September through to November, The Australian South-West lights up with one of the world’s best wildflower displays.

Many of the flowers found surrounding Albany are native to the area, and cannot be found anywhere else on the planet.
Make sure to start your journey at the Albany Visitor Centre. Here you’ll be able to plan an itinerary for your trip.
The Regional Wildflower Centre is a fantastic place to begin your trip. Located just 20 minutes outside of Albany in Regional Bay.
The native garden in the Regional Wildflower Centre is located alongside the Australian Wildlife Park and the Albany Whaling Station, giving you a chance to learn about the history and flora of the area.
With a strong focus on birdlife, the gardens feature a wetlands area, a Gondwana geology as well as a biodiversity and hotspots area. Make sure to check out the Walken Djet, or rainbow flower walk – there are some beautiful flowers there at this time of year.
The garden has a strong focus on preservation, with a propagation centre onsite propagating over 130 endemic West Australian plant species. These plants make up around 20% of the plant species found in the area – one square kilometre here features more plants than the entire European continent.
