Trevor takes a boat to check out Direction Island, one of the ten Mackerel islands located off Onslow. During the winter time the weather is high 20’s, low 30’s with crystal clear days and beautiful blue water.
- The waters surrounding the Mackerel islands are teaming with marine life. You can see migrating whales, nesting turtles and up to 17 species of reptile.
- Nestled in the heart of its own coral atoll, Direction Island is surrounded by coral reef and rich in tropical fish species and marine life.
- The accommodation on Direction Island sleeps up to 8 people but is also perfect for a romantic isolated getaway.
- Accessible by private boat or charter, these islands are a perfect spot for fishing. Trevor tries his luck at troll fishing with skipper Simon Philip to catch a mackerel, while discussing a delicious way to serve the sensational fish.
