A number of forward thinking solutions from the Department of Housing, like Osprey Village, make it possible to live in Port Hedland without earning six figures.

• It’s thanks to a giant underground tank that holds over 1.25 million litres of water collected from stormwater drains and run off from roofs within the village.
  
  
• A lot of clever thinking has gone into the estate not just to make it affordable, but to make it a place that’s so easy to live in – the village is even hooked in to the ultrafast National Broadband Network.
