Family Favourite Attraction

EPISODE 1 – Whiteman Park Special

Story: Family Favourite Attraction
Episode: 1
Presenter: Pete Curulli
Air Date: 14th August 2022

With three kids under six, Whiteman Park is the perfect place for Pete’s inexpensive family day out!

  • Whiteman Park has an extensive network of bicycle, wheelchair and pram-friendly paths that link all of the attractions, and you can even hire a pedal kart or catch a tram, so getting around the Park is almost too easy.
  • First planted in 2001, with 18 stages of planting following that, the Children’s Forest is for children to explore and enjoy Western Australia’s native bushland, while watching “their” forest grow over repeated visits.
  • The Children’s Forest is a place where children can learn about the many wonders of Mother Nature, including giant marching ants, colourful birds, peeking possums, a life size wedge-tailed eagle’s nest made of steel, and the Forest’s ‘guardians’, the Boy of the Bush and his sister Fern.
  • With over 400 plant species identified within the Park, including declared rare flora, there are numerous plants that will provide shows of colour throughout the seasons, meaning you’ll rarely see the same thing twice, and get a unique experience every time you visit Whiteman Park.
