The Golden Outback covers 54% of Western Australia, from red earth in Kalgoorlie to pure white sandy beaches in Esperance, these locations are truly unique.

  • Kalgoorlie was born in the 1880s gold rush when thousands made their journey to find a fortune.
  • Kalgoorlie is a vibrant mix of rich history, Colonial Buildings, and enormous mining operations, which are still to this day producing gold.
  • The Super Pit in Kalgoorlie is one of Australia’s largest open-pit gold mines. Visitors to the town can take a tour of the mining pit.
  • From Southern Cross, to Kalgoorlie and Norseman this part of the country holds hundreds of different eucalypt species, growing in an area the size of England with only 250ml of rainfall a year.
  • WA has one of the largest collections of wildflowers on earth, with more than 12,000 species.
  • One of the most unique and beautiful flowers that are found in this region is the Pindar Wreath flower.
  • ‘Lucky Bay’ is officially the whitest beach in Australia only 80km out of Esperance.
