Two hour drive to the south of Perth, the Karri Forrests of Pemberton draw visitors from all over the world. A drive through these trees are pretty special. Chrissy explores the Southern Forrests and the variety of unique and interesting attractions in the region.

• The Diamond Tree, one of eight trees used as fire lookouts right up to 1973. Today only three of them are still climbable. The Diamond Tree is the oldest erected in 1939 and also the shortest so a good way to ease yourself into your climbing career.
• Once you reach the top your legs will have certainly had a work out. The view at the top is well worth the climb and you will be ready for lunch at one of the many incredible options in this region.
• Manjimup is also the region that hosts the annual internationally famous Truffle Kerfuffle event. The Truffle and Wine Co. was established in 1997 and is now the largest supplier of black truffles in the world.
• Another great option is stopping off at one of the regions farm gates for some fresh fruit and vegies. Guadagnino & Co have been farming here since the 50s and it is a great place to stock up before heading next door to Fontys pool.
• Fontys Pool was originally built to rest the land for potato crops but was opened to the public in 1925 for swimming. It has been officially recognized as one of the great beauty spots in the state. It’s the perfect way to end a day in the Great Southern Forrests and there is even accommodation.
