Title: Dolphins on Roebuck Bay
Broadcast: 18th February 2018
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane and Chrissy Morrissy
Trevor and Chrissy explore Broome’s waters by taking a tour with Mick from Absolute Ocean Charters into the marine park, Roebuck Bay, for a wildlife spotting adventure. The main marine creature to look out for on the tour is the endangere, Snubfin Dolphin.
- On deck on the tour is marine biologist, Alicia, who is there to give commentary on the marine life spotted along the tour.
- Snubfin Dolphins are harder to catch on film compared to most dolphins, as they don’t like to play around in the wake of the boat.
- Skipper Mick is an expert at finding the snubfin dolphins and positioning the boat in perfect viewing of the dolphins!
- The conditions in Broome are perfect almost all year and just being out on the boat is a treat in itself.
- There are three types of Dolphin in Roebuck Bays water but the snubfin brought the awareness to the water and helping Roebuck bay becoming a marine park.
- On boat, bubbles and a decadent lunch are also served or you can take a twilight tour to catch Broome’s stunning sunset
