Fishing off Dampier Peninsula

Episode: 7
Title: Fishing off Dampier Peninsula
Broadcast: September 10th
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane

Karratha is a place that is often overlooked when it comes to exploring WA’s magnificent coast. Today, Trevor heads out for a spot of fishing just off the Dampier Peninsula.

  • The great thing about taking a fishing trip with Discovery Cruises, is that you get expert local advice.
  • Fish you might expect to catch here are: Spanish mackerel, spotted mackerel, and trevallies – just to name a few.
  • After a couple of hours using the large lures, your skipper will take you to a special spot for some bottom fishing, where you will catch something in a matter of minutes – guaranteed.
  • If you’re not into fishing, you can even go out on a day cruise, which are about $110-$120. The day of fishing is about $225 and includes all of your gear, as well as a fantastic lunch surrounded by open ocean.
  • There really is something for everyone up here, and what better way to experience our amazing coastline than right on the ocean?
