Title: Wyndham
Broadcast: September 10th
Presenter: Chrissy Morrissy
For Chrissy, it’s road trip time in the Kimberley, where she drives from Kununurra to Wyndham.
- First sign to check is at Molly Springs; down another dusty track, it’s another hidden gem of the Kimberley.
- In a land with salt water crocodiles, Molly Springs has one of the only freshwater swimming holes where you can enjoy a dip.
- Shaun’s job is to check all of the information signs to ensure they provide tourists with reliable information – this is especially vital for swimming holes that may not be safe to swim in.
- Marlgu Billabong, the next stop, is a birdwatchers’ paradise, being an internationally ranked bird sanctuary. It has a bird population of around 20 000 at any one time
- There are some must-see spots while you’re visiting Wyndham, like seeing the world’s biggest boab tree in captivity, or the giant statues in the dreamtime park.
- The 5 River’s lookout is another must-see, being just outside of town, it overlooks the Erskine Range.
- There really is so much to see up here in the Kimberley, that a road trip is the best way to do it.
