Eco Beach ‘Mud and Bubbles’

Episode: 1
Broadcast: 23rd October 2015
Presenter: Caty Price

Broome can arguably be described as the jewel of the Northwest. An hour and a half drive south is a remote sanctuary aptly called Eco Beach or Yardoogarra to the traditional owners, an absolutely stunning place where rich native shrubbery meets fine white sand.

  • There is plenty on offer here from kayaking to stand up paddle boarding as the Ramada Eco Beach Resort is somewhere you can escape the hustle and bustle or just enjoy it as a day trip.
  • The ‘Mud and Bubbles’ experience starts on the oceans edge at the high tide mark where we use the fine white beach sand as a natural exfoliate and then have a quick rinse off in the ocean. But, it’s the mangrove mud that’s the real hero. The mud is from Jack’s Creek and it is full of nice sulphites and minerals.
  • Once you have applied your full body mask, it is time to let it dry off in the sun. It might not look the most glamorous but here comes the fun part – enjoying a glass of West Australian bubbles with newfound friends, there’s nothing quite like sitting round covered in mud to encourage a bit of bonding.
  • There are actually some serious benefits to all this as the blue mud is said to remove toxins while refreshing and moisturizing your skin so when it is rinsed off, the skin should be beautiful and soft. But best of all, this is a uniquely West Australian experience as it uses everything from the land to pamper yourself, not just your body but also your mind.
