Trevor heads down to Nambelup and explores the Spinifex Brewery to learn how they make their unique beers.

  • Located in Nambelup, just outside Mandurah, in the Food Innovation precinct, the brewery ties western Australian agriculture into local industry.
  • The brewery is guided by its 4 pillars: innovation, sustainability, WA produce, and hospitality tourism. Their ethos defines how their operate as a business and contributes to what makes them such a unique organisation.
  • The brewery champions its use of West Aussie grain and produces, including hops, grains, finger limes, wattle seeds, and quandong. It also in line with its sustainability pillar doesn’t let spent grain goes to waste, it employed in a variety of cases within the business; wastewater is recycled into the business’ production.
  • Spinifex makes an effort to maintain a presence in the community, collaborating with many different WA producers, as well as working on a collaboration line, the Golden Rivet, to support the Young Veterans of WA.
  • Connecting with the tourism industry in WA, they work to promote those who will share their story placing them in a relevant place in WA hospitality.
  • Some drinks they have to offer are the wattle seed infused Spinifex Stout, quandong and mango infused vodka, and the Finger Lime Lemon bitters, just to name a few, showcasing their commitment to using WA grain and produce.
