- Kaleidoscope World of Fashion (KWF) is a Perth-based platform designed to elevate fashion, highlight diversity, and celebrate innovation and the performing arts. This organisation produces an annual fashion show in Perth that underscores the power of diversity and inclusivity within the fashion industry.
- KWF brings together designers, models, artists, and fashion enthusiasts from various backgrounds, providing a vibrant platform for creative expression that honors and perpetuates cultural traditions.
- Astrid Tshidibu, the visionary Founder and Director of KWF, has a unique and multicultural background that spans across continents. Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Astrid grew up in Belgium and Germany before relocating to Perth in 2008. She is fluent in five languages, and her diverse experiences have deeply influenced her passion for promoting multiculturalism in the fashion industry.
- Astrid firmly believes that "the fashion industry needs more colour," a conviction that drives her to break down barriers, embrace diversity, and incorporate a vibrant array of cultures and styles in her fashion endeavors.
- KWF is dedicated to promoting several key values: Cultural Authenticity and Respect, Innovation and Creativity, Inclusivity and Representation, Promoting Emerging Talents, Performance and Presentation, and Building a Community of Fashion Enthusiasts.
- Storytelling is a core element of a KWF show. In this story, we got exclusive access to the promotional photoshoot for this year's theme, "Diamonds are Forever." Just as a diamond reflects light into a spectrum of colors, KWF reflects a multitude of influences, cultures, and styles within the fashion industry. Founder Astrid Tshidibu likens the process of a diamond’s transformation under pressure to the evolution of KWF.
- KWF seamlessly combines the glamour and excitement of a traditional fashion show with a deep commitment to celebrating diversity and inclusivity. This approach honors the unique cultural backgrounds of participants and promotes emerging talents.
