Ancient Lands Under Brilliant Skies #2

Story: Ancient Lands Under Brilliant Skies #2
Episode: 11
Presenter: Chrissy Morrisy
Air Date: 14th May

Chrissy wakes up for the second day of WA’s newest festival, the Ancient Lands Under Brilliant Skies festival in Murchison.

  • Murchison’s skies cool temps make rides by chopper a real treat, allowing visitors a clear view of Errabiddy Bluff and the surrounding rock formations.
  • Legend has it that a big-foot look-alike lives amongst the rock caverns surrounding the bluff. Visitors and locals often tout not to wander off too far, lest they never be seen again.
  • Stargazing has long been a significant part of the Wajarri people’s culture, they believe they can tell things from the skies, such as how the emus develop, when they lay eggs or when they mate, for safety. Local insights have long been a part of the culture.
  • There are also free tours out to the radio astronomy observatory, a bucket-list tour for amateur astronomers.
