EPISODE 1 – Whiteman Park Special

Story: Volunteering
Episode: 1
Presenter: Nikki Parkinson
Air Date: 14th August 2022

Whiteman Park has almost endless opportunities to volunteer and is always on the lookout for passionate individuals to join their 600 plus strong group of dedicated, skilled volunteers.

  • From helping out in the visitor’s information centre to volunteering as a tour guide, maintaining animal shelters or planting trees, there’s something to suit anyone passionate about this gorgeous park.
  • If you love nature and getting your hands dirty you could volunteer to plant trees in the children’s forest. Or, if you’re an animal, you could help clean and maintain the animal shelters that are vital for the conservation and breeding programs for rare and endangered species.
  • If you have a keen interest in the environment you could volunteer as a tour guide for the Nocturnal Woylie Walks. Or, if history is more your style, you may enjoy telling the story of Whiteman Park whilst riding a vintage bus!
  • The park is also in desperate need of skilled workers to keep the vintage bus, trains, and heritage trams working.
  • They’re an iconic part of Whiteman Park – connecting visitors to each corner of the park while enjoying the views. It’s always a highlight for the kids too!
