  • September 21st marks the 40th anniversary of Whiteman Park, and over those 40 years so much has changed and grown.
  • Whiteman Park is now surrounded by suburban areas making the perfect location for the community to get out and explore nature. It also makes it a haven for biodiversity, preserving an important area of bush that serves as habitat to any species of flora and fauna.
  • Whiteman Park is also bursting into colour this spring with hundreds of flowers and birds popping up all over.
  • For their 40th anniversary Whiteman Park is focusing on conservation, a process that has been integral to the park over the years. The Woodland Reserve is one program they have that is helping to protect and restore many different species of plants including feed trees for black cockatoos and other birds.
  • It is also an important milestone for the vintage railways and other attractions of Whiteman Park including the Bennett Brook Railway’s operators, WALRPA’s 50th anniversary and The Lolly Stop’s 20th.
  • These days there's plenty to do at Whiteman Park from bike and train rides to museums and of course lots of beautiful Australian bush.
  • Revolutions museum has a new commemorative display celebrating the many changes over the last 40 years so be sure to get in soon to be a part of the festivities.
