  • The Beverley Airfield, located on Bremner Road at the south-eastern edge of town, was built in 1943 for use during World War II.
  • Beverley’s connection to aviation dates back to 1928, when a young Selby Ford sketched the design for WA’s first home-built biplane on the floor of a powerhouse.
  • Two years later, the Silver Centenary took to the skies—marking the beginning of Beverley’s aviation story.
  • The Beverley Airshow is held in Beverley, Western Australia.
  • The first Beverley Airshow—Aviat 70—was held in 1970 to mark 50 years of aviation progress in Western Australia.
  • The next shows happened after this was in 1980 and 2000
  • The Beverley Soaring Society: Founded in 1974 during a golden era of gliding in WA, the Beverley Soaring Society has become a centre of excellence in the sport.
  • The founders of the Beverley Soaring Society were Dave Woodward and Duncan Black.
