Nikki takes to the newly build bike-roads to ride across to Fremantle with ease and in style, exploring the sights and taking in the Noongar artwork murals on the way.
- The new major road, rail, coastal and shared paths are set to transform WA’s transport network and better connect our communities, including Fremantle.
- More than 150 kilometres of shared paths are being added across WA, with the State and Federal governments also making significant investment to improve our metropolitan and regional roads.
- Fremantle will enjoy the benefits from major transport infrastructure projects including the recent completed High Street upgrades and the extension of principal shared path between Victoria Street and North Fremantle, which also connects to the bus and rail networks.
- The High Street Upgrade has significantly improved safety and is reducing travel times on the approach to Fremantle, featuring new pedestrian underpasses connected Montreal Street from north to south and Forrest Street from east to west.
- The impressive artwork adorning the underpasses feature two prominent local Nyoongar artists, telling traditional stories of the area.
