Whilst some airports gathered dust over the past 2 years, Perth Airport took the opportunity to continue its upgrade program and its leadership when it comes to passenger safety and well-being. Trevor looks at what the post covid pandemic era of travel will look like.

  • Perth Airport was recognized as the first Australian airport to be awarded an international Airport Health Accreditation which acknowledges that the covid-safe processes and measures that were implemented are world-class, an accreditation which has now been renewed for a second year.
  • Sanitizer, the 2m rule between people, QR Codes, on arrival and at each venue, and masks being worn indoors and inflight are the new norm when travelling.
  • Perth airport has introduced new wave technology which allows motorists to enter the airport car parks without having to touch entry/exit and pay machines.
  • The roll-out of an online food ordering and payment system allows passengers to pre-order and pay for items on their device and then pick them up at the terminal, making for a safe and seamless experience.
  • Perth Airport is the first major Australian airport to reflect the rich indigenous cultural heritage of the country by acknowledging Traditional Custodians of destinations with boarding gates now showing both the commonly used name of the destination along with the name of the Traditional Custodians of that place.
  • They've launched the first pay-per-use Aspire Lounge so passengers can escape the hustle and bustle and relax and recharge.
  • Travellers can enjoy freshly prepared hot and cold food, barista-made coffee, fully serviced bar, all included in the entry fee.
