Story: Kalbarri National Park
Episode: 11
Presenter: Josh Kennedy
Air Date: 2nd January 2022
Josh and Chrissy split up, with Josh heading into the heart of the Kalbarri National Park to check out its newest attraction.
- The Kalbarri National Parl is divided into two sections, the Coastal Parks and the Inland Parks.
- The Inland parks are often used for camping and abseiling.
- The Z Bend boasts beautiful wildflowers and a spectacular view.
- In the warmer weather, it’s recommended to bring your bathers. The trek down can be a challenge but the swim at the bottom is a huge incentive.
- One thing you need to be aware of out here is it's often warmer than it is on the coast so bring lots of water and a hat.
- Nature's Window is one of Western Australia’s most iconic natural attractions, formed from layers of Tumblagooda Sandstone.
- The Kalbarri Skywalk only officially opened in 2020. This destination is easily accessible for all.
- The Skywalk platform is an impressive piece of engineering that stands 100m directly above the gorge below.
- Kalbarri is part of the traditional lands of the Nanda people, in the Yamaji region of Western Australia. The Skywalk's entry sign 'Kaju Yatka' is the Nanda words for 'sky' and 'to walk'.
